This story introduces that time in history in a framework of Sephardic Jews celebrating Hanukkah. The comparison of the colonial uprisings to the Maccabees is pure genius. The story is beautifully illustrated by Fede Combi with amazing attention to authentic Colonial detail. Children's author Tami Lehman-Wilzig and chocolate maven, Rabbi Deborah R.
