Celebrate Dagon Boat Festival on June 19th

Luna Picks a Lucky Dumpling
Natasha Yim,
Violet Kim (Illustrator)
Charlesbridge

This cute story centers on two youngsters who try to make the Dragon Boat Festival celebration special for the youngest member of the family. The family is gathered for the celebration and three of the dumplings have the lucky duck yolk in the center. The girls keep trying to arrange the serving plate so that the toddler has a chance at getting one of the three lucky dumplings. Of course they want the other two. As people grab the dumplings the girls examine the odds of getting the lucky ones to the intended recipients. Natasha Yim's cute story has engaging characters in a charming story that combines childhood hijinks, Chinese culture and a simple lesson in probability.

Another Fantastic Suspense Thriller from Nora Roberts

The Final Target is a Suspense thriller that paints a realistic picture of stalking and obsession When Arden unwittingly becomes the target, the eventual attack is just the beginning of her trauma Even after her attacker is locked up, she lives in fear. The novel alternates between Arden as she rebuilds her life and the mind of the man who continues to believe that they are meant for each other. Whereas many of the author's books tend to be romances, and her In Death series written under the pen name J.D. Robb are police procedural with a lot of romance, this book falls solidly in the suspense thriller area. The sick tension of the entitled psychopath is relieved by the warm feelings of family and friendship. There is romance as a subplot, but the main story is a woman who survives trauma and becomes strong on her own.

I was fortunate to get advanced copies in both an ebook and audiobook format and alternate between the two. January LaVoy is a talented actress and she voiced the many characters of different genders and ages with ease. Her narration chillingly captured the psychopathic ramblings as well as Arden and her family and friends. If you are an audiobook listener, this is one you won't want to miss.
