Mrs. Claus's Noodle Kugel by Jamie Emaus is adorable. She mixes in catchy rhymes, kitchen craziness and a bissel of Yiddish. Bryan Langdo's illustration are always fun. I am so happy to add this book to their other interfaith holiday picture books on my own bookcase.

The author ties this premise to a story about friendship, miscommunication and secrets that involves the famous unsolved Isabella Stewart Gardner Heist of 1990. Shay paints a picture of the coven's home land, Marsh House, and the surrounding territory. But the true magic of her writing is in the scenes that take place in the Other Marsh within the museum that they enter when they go through the enchanted empty picture frames. I was lucky enough to receive an advanced copy of this novel from Erewhon Books, through a surprise book mail from Kensington Publishing Corp.'s Between The Chapters Book Club. However, I can honestly say that K.S. Shay has bewitched me and I can't wait to read her next story.
