St. Patrick’s Day, Here I Come!

This picture book celebrates the holiday with several different poems. Although preschoolers will appreciate the book, it is actually great for older kids too. Teachers can use it in March to launch some interdisciplinary lessons. Most of the poems explore legends and customs associated with the holiday, But one poem provides a geography lesson, and another defines a limerick. The poems follow a variety of rhyme patterns and would make a great lesson about poetry.
